Donald Everett Painter, 90, passed away on March 27, 2024, in Carlisle. He was also known as “Possum” and was born on March 12, 1934, in Stuttgart to Everett and Iva Painter. Donald was the owner of Park Avenue Nursery from 1967 to 2006 and was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joe Painter and Pete Painter.
Surviving Donald are his wife of 68 years, Carolyn Painter, two daughters, Diane Edwards (Scott) of Hot Springs and Kim Oltmann (Gary) of Stuttgart, as well as three grandsons, Christopher Moritz (Katie) of Mt. Ida, and Lance Oltmann (Sarah and Dustin Oltmann) of Stuttgart. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
